Project STAY works with between 5 and 8 open cases at any given time throughout the academic year. Project STAY is able to accept cases only if the referring school is a member of the consortium. At times, there may be a waiting list of up to several weeks before Project STAY can accept a new case. Prior to Project STAY accepting a new case, the Director of Special Education for the referring school district or coop must provide their consent for Project STAY to become involved. Additionally, the student's parent(s) or legal guardian must also provide written consent for Project STAY to become involved in their child's case. To check and see if your school district or coop is a member of the Project STAY consortium, or to make a referral to Project STAY, click on the appropriate link above.
Space in the Project STAY member consortium may become available at the end of each academic year, if a participating district elects to reduce the amount of time they contract with Project STAY. Membership preference is given to current consortium members. Interested school districts may contact Project STAY, (via their Director of Special Education) to check if there is an opening in the consortium for the following year.
